For the Photo a Day May challenge, every time I try to hit the bookmarked post of the list, it’s unavailable.  So I search the tag, but there’s more than one challenge going on.

For instance, yesterday I posted a pic under the theme of “You” when it turns out it should have been “Nature.”

Today’s theme is “Love.”  How do I get a picture of that?

Also, in the Mayhem Photo a Day, today’s theme is “Puke.”

Related:  if you don’t have a picture of puke, DO NOT look up Images of puke on the internet.

I know, right?  

I’ll be banished to Tumblr Pergatory where I’ll be doomed to look at internet pictures of puke for an as-yet-undetermined length of time, maybe eternity.

Mayhem Photo a Day - day 7 - Puke

When I was a kid, I spent summers going to family reunions, picnics, and “homecomings” with my Southern grandmother.  Always, ALWAYS, there was a jello-fruit-and cool-whip or cottage cheese type fruit salad in some flavor (lime, orange, strawberry, raspberry) that we affectionately called, “Mule puke” or “Mule barf” (as pictured below, which btw links to the recipe)

So common is this in the south that the tradition persisted into my adulthood so that even my kids got to experience it.

My daughter Desiree even commemorated it in a scarf that she knitted and sold in her Etsy shop, called the Mule Barf Scarf (see below)
