Photo a Day May - day 5 - Something you can’t live without
My daughter Desiree made this quilt for me 6 years ago for Christmas. Every member of our family (at the time) has handprints around it, and there are hearts for babies I’d lost.
This beautiful, artistic piece hangs on the wall of my bedroom and represents three things I can’t live without - Family, Love, and Art.
Mayhem photo a day - day 9 - a dog I hate
Essentially just about any dog who isn’t this one.
Now that I’m home evenings I could work on it. It will take me about a year to make one big enough to fit my bed.
The quilt I have now I made about the time I was pregnant with Zachary, 10 yrs ago. I called it Purple Passion.
It’s been on my bed the whole time but now some of the fabrics are beginning to tear from age & wear.
My life is new and different than it was then. Maybe it’s time for something new and different on my bed too.
One can only hope.
Feet up Friday - home edition
Think I’ll just be right here a while.
When my x lived here, I had the head of the bed against the wall to the living room. When he moved out, I cleaned a lot of stuff out of the bedroom and rearranged the furniture a little but left the bed where it was.
Since then, the kids helped me expand the closet. Then Wolf moved in. He put his TV and game consoles on a shelving unit across from the foot of the bed & took a chair I had in the corner of the room, put it against the foot of the bed to sit in. Not the best solution.
Two days ago he was able to get a neutral-color La-z-boy very cheaply. So in the interest of giving him more room for the new chair, yesterday I cleaned out from under the bed and today he moved the bed and nightstand dressers.
I like the arrangement (though i might move the quilt rack). and I like that the space is more ‘ours’ now.
One more border, a pink/tan/gold batik. I might be ready to pin it tomorrow but in searching for broccoli for supper, I discovered a bottle of coconut 80 Smirnoff with only 2 shots left, so I did them.
I might knit but I think I’m done quilting for now. LoL
My wife sent me this picture today, on Facebook, saying this was a dress she might wear.
I asked if that meant I could take a ride in the TARDIS.
I’ll be expecting to receive multiple blows to the head when I get home.
Des, if you sit around & figure out a pattern for this, ima knock you in the head with a brick. Then I want half the royalties.
