Random weirdness from a tattoo-artist gun-toting biker-chick knitting foodie with seven kids. Keep the change, ya filthy animal...

Hamncheezr: Today

hamncheezr:

  • I ate entirely too many pieces of pizza (at 5 and counting, I think)
  • Worked 7 hours straight.  I’m over it. How do you 40hr a week people live with yourselves?
  • I knit a little one a linen stitch bracelet to use up some sock yarn and I hated every minute of it, so I quit. Plus the linen stitch was tighter than the rest so it was making the garter stitch border look like bacon. So I quit.

Tonight:

  • I’m tired.  I woke up with a bad headache and it hasn’t let up or left despite my eating a handful of children’s ibuprofen at church.
  • I need to do dishes and put up the rest of the walmart stuff and sweep the floor.
  • I need to give Hannah a shower and tidy the living room ‘cause it looks like crack heads live here.

Random:

  • My birthday is Tuesday.

~~~~~
I love my kid. Best Valentine I ever got, even though I didn’t get a box of chocolates that day.
Today
I did too much. As is my habit.
I helped my daughter.
I helped a friend.
Somebody made me cry.
Somebody else made me laugh.
Finally I need to sleep.
I’ve earned it.
Today
At work I scrubbed and sterilized tubes but didn’t get to tattoo anybody.
After work I helped Veronica unbury about 75% of her bedroom.
Then I mowed the back & side yards (Wolf mowed the front today).
I’ve been up since 6:30 AM.
Think Ima call it a night.
This just about summarizes today.
So far today I overslept, rode an hour out to the mountains to pile rocks in a roadbed, (getting mud and possibly cow shit in a new tattoo), sent a son to Africa, had a daughter get her first period, and broke an essential part off Wolf’s car.
So today
The FMP said I have a chronic bladder infection from the stones. I have to take another 10-day course of bactrim & then 2 months of a different antibiotic low-dose.
I had a 2-degree fever & my BP was up, too.
She said there’s a good possibility that the scratches the stones make are colonized with bacteria. That’s why it keeps coming back & why I need the long-term treatment.
Lucky meee!
It was an over-$100 day. I ended up with a tremendous headache.
A hot shower & some ibuprofen, 1st dose of antibiotic, pizza, curled up on the couch with a quilt and knitting, watching a silly movie with everybody made me feel a little better.
However, now that the kids are abed, I am just about done in.
Earlier today, this was the kids’ room at my daughter Des’ house.  Right now the 7yob and 4yog share a room because Des’ family took in a friend who became homeless.
Not only do her kids have a LOT of toys, but the toys themselves have a LOT of pieces.  And last night we grownups were doing stuff like talking and drinking and making food and painting kitchen cabinets while 5 kids (hers and mine, ages 4-14) played, largely unsupervised, in this room.
When we were packing up stuff to go home I said, do you want me to stay a while and help you clean the kids’ room?  She said, “I don’t even know where to start.”  I said, “Let’s just START.”
They need to put in a new, taller bookshelf unit, so some of that couldn’t be organized.  We filled 2 large trash bags and hauled several toys out to my trunk to be dropped off at the thrift store by where I work.
But in ONE, 45-minute session, the two of us working together accomplished THIS.
So this happened today…
Suddenly my weather app is predicting sun and warm.
Guess who’s getting up early tomorrow to go to the licensure office to get tags for my bike? God forbid I sit through a perfect-weather weekend, not being able to ride the new iron horse because it doesn’t have tags on it.
